ONWARDS SCHOOL SAFETY, REHABILITATION OF TYPHOON-HIT SCHOOLS

The Municipal School Board, led by Mayor Roderick Awingan conducted its regular meeting on August 26 discussing various matters for the benefit of learners in the municipality.

During the meeting, attended by representatives from the Department of Education, schools, religious and private sector, the board were given updates by representatives from the municipal engineering office on the ongoing rehabilitation efforts at the Lamtang Elementary School and Alno Kadoorie Elementary School/Alno National High School.


The board also discussed school safety such as acquisition of metal detectors, putting up of signages, and police visibility at the different schools of the town, among other concerns.


Also present during the meeting are Councilor Teddy Walang, Municipal Treasurer Norman Antero, Municipal Coop Development Officer Orlando Pacya, Benson Labad-dan of DepEd and Benguet Public School Teachers and Employees Association, Inc. (BPSTEA), Rev. Esther Balawag representing the religious sector, Rosaria Pes-oyen representing the private sector, FPTA President Gertrude Bolislis, engineers Berlinden Daniel and Kurt Delmas from the municipal engineering office.
