ORIENTATION-WORKSHOP OF THE JOB ORDER EMPLOYEES
The municipal government, initiated by the Human Resource Management Office led by Imelda Obidos, conducted the Orientation-Workshop for job order employees on the Civil Service Commission and office policies on August 20 at the Strawberry Valley Hotel and Restaurant at the Strawberry Farm in Barangay Betag.
The 43 job orders, serving in various capacities and offices, were acquainted with office policies such as attendance, accomplishment reports, and filing of leave, among others; orientation on accounting process on payroll; got familiarized with the municipal officials and department heads and of the office policies and CSC rules; lectured on performance evaluation, work commitment, professional characteristics; and on Gender and Development as discussed by Yhong Esnara of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The Social Security System La Trinidad Branch also discussed its benefits and packages to the job order employees, and encouraged the latter to become a voluntary contributor and to treat every SSS contribution as "an investment and not an expense."
Obidos talked about performance evaluation and work commitment, on having the right attitude at work, and stating the importance of working with your team. She said a job order's performance will be evaluated at the end of their work contract.
Administrator Franco Bawang, Jr., representing the mayor, also echoed the importance of being a team player and knowing how to work well with one's colleagues and even with other departments.
Councilor Bartolome Baldas, Jr. head of the committee on personnel policies, urged the employees to do their best according to their job description, but to also have the initiative in serving the public office.
"It’s only the beginning, this might be your stepping stone to further your career here in the municipal local government unit or to other agencies," Baldas said to the mostly young faces during the one-day orientation.
