The municipality of La Trinidad was recognized as the “Stakeholder awardee for 2026” in the Cordillera region during the 31st Police Community Relations Month culminating ceremony with the theme: “Sa bagong Pilipinas, ugnayang pulis at mamamayan tapat, maaasahan, at nararamdaman ng bayan,” at the regional headquarters at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad.
The MLGU was lauded for “its steadfast parnership, exceptional support, and unwavering commitment to the promotion of peace, public safety, and community development through its active collaboration in Police Community Affairs and Development programs, projects, and activities, significantly contributing to the peace and development initiatives of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera and strengthening the partnership between the PNP, the local government, and the communities it serves,” the plaque of recognition stated.
PRO-Cordillera Chief B/Gen. Ericson Dilag with guest speaker Department of Interior and Local Government-Cordillera Director Atty. Anthony Nuyda handed the LGU’s plaque of recognition to the mayor together with Councilor Teddy Walang on July 31.
The municipality, together with other stakeholders from the community, is an active member of the Municipal Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development, which is co-chaired by Awingan. It is a multi-sectoral partnership body initiated by the PNP, which provides independent guidance, fosters police-community relations, and supports local station reform initiatives.
