Mayor Roderick Awingan, alongside Councilor Horacio Ramos Jr. and Municipal Health Officer Dr. Antonette Agpas, recently led a municipal delegation to the Philippine National Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI). The team composed of MHSO personnel, Barangay officials, and representatives from the La Trinidad Water District participated in the Luzon Arsenic Source Training and Risk Mitigation and Engineering Intervention (LASER).

This activity focused on arsenic detection and engineering solutions. By equipping the Local Government Unit (LGU) with specialized scientific tools, the initiative enables the identification of groundwater hazards and the implementation of high-tech filtration systems. The goal is to ensure every barangay has consistent access to safe, arsenic-free water.

By integrating these strategies into local infrastructure, the LGU is taking a proactive stance against chemical health risks. Mayor Awingan emphasized that this science-based approach is vital for the long-term health and environmental resilience of La Trinidad, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to securing clean, potable water as a fundamental right for all residents.
