RESERVISTS RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR VOLUNTEERISM
Reservists from the 1401st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) were recognized on September 9 for their acts of volunteerism throughout the various activities of the municipal local government unit and being on-call during disasters and calamities.
Municipal officials led by Mayor Roderick Awingan together with councilors Jayson Dangwa and Tyrone Diaz attended the activity spearheaded by Maj. Francis Batnag, who is also from the municipal legal office, and Lieutenant Colonel Edgar Madlaing, the executive officer of the 1401st RRIBn. The awarding and ceremony is in celebration of the Reservists Week, which is being commemorated in the municipality through the mayor's executive order that highlights the importance of the reservists in keeping the community safe and peaceful.
Batnag was also recognized for initiating the passage of the Executive Order No. 36, series of 2025 while Madlaing was honored for being awarded as best reservist ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) commandant for 2025-2026 in the 14th Regional Community Defense Group.
Awingan lauded the dedication of the reservists for their voluntary works despite getting no monetary value in return, but encouraged them to continue partnering with the MLGU in serving the people for the betterment of the community.
Executive Order No. 36 s. 2025 recognizes the celebration of National Reservist Week in the municipality as support for their invaluable services.
