SOLO PARENTS UNDERGO HUMAN RIGHTS SEMINAR

Single parents from barangays all over La Trinidad participated in a Human Rights Seminar today, June 23, at the municipal gymnasium, as part of the La Trinidad Equality Expo.

Discussions revolved around the RA 11861 or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act, Basic Human Rights, Anti-Terrorism and Gender Sensitivity.

Atty. Francis Batnag, Melanie Fatog, MSG. George Calatan (AGS) PA, and Felipe Esnara served as speakers for each topic.

In his message, Mayor Roderick Awingan emphasized that the activity intends to protect and empower the community’s marginalized sectors.

He also encouraged participants to share their learnings and insights so that more people are informed of their fundamental rights.
