TOWARDS DIGITAL PAYMENTS IN LT

Mayor Roderick Awingan led other municipal heads in discussing with Marvin Valdez, the North Luzon public sector account manager of GCash for the digitalization of payments in the municipality via the digital app on July 29.

Awingan said they are currently polishing the memorandum of agreement between the local government unit and GCash for them to include all the services that the digital app could provide not only to the operations within the offices of the municipality, but to the wider public as well.

The MLGU’s partnership with GCash is backed by the Sangguniang Bayan, which came up with the resolution allowing the mayor to sign on behalf of the municipality for “the establishment of a digital platform for paying and receiving financial services within the municipality.”

Also present during the talks were Legal Officer Atty. Victor Singa Jr., Treasurer Norman Antero, and Assistant Treasurer Charlie Quimson.
