TOWARDS RESPONSIBLE MEN LEADING THEIR HOMES

The Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya (KATROPA) event spearheaded by Municipal Population and Development Officer Lourdes Taguiba, brought together men from the various barangays for a symposium on being a responsible leader of the home at Dap-ayan Toyong, Pico, this morning.

Rev. Patricio Lawaguey discussed the aims of the KATROPA and urged the fathers to do their part in participating in the activities of the municipal local government unit while keeping the Creator at the center of their lives.

Mayor Roderick Awingan said the municipality aims to create programs involving all sectors and members of the home—the children, youth, women and men— urging them to be active members of the community.

“We want you to be the best example in your family through these activities we are doing for men,” Awingan said.

He urged the men to participate actively in the various programs, with the MLGU willing to link them to various agencies or resources from the public or private groups for their livelihood as well.

Topics such as men’s health and family planning, among others were also discussed during the one day event with other speakers Rev. Jones Padeo, Rev. Paul Tabon, and Irineo Alfaro Jr. of the MSWDO.
