TOWN SPOTLIGHTS LA TRINIDAD CREATIVES IN INAUGURAL 'SINING SA LAMBAK' EXHIBIT

True to La Trinidad’s reputation as the Valley of Colors, 26 homegrown creatives channeled the town’s vibrancy into their artwork during the first-ever ‘Sining sa Lambak: Community Art Exhibit’, held at Mam-is Cafe and Artizan Gallery on September 23.
Proving that art is alive and flourishing in the valley, the event officially kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by messages from La Trinidad Berry Creatives Organization head Ariel Layugan and visual arts representative Donna Bayquen, who congratulated the team on the successful initiative.
Guests and participants then proceeded to the second floor, where they were greeted by a curated collection of paintings, photos, and sculptures that embody the municipality’s spirit.
Cafe and gallery owners Harold and Ernica Banario shared that they opened their studio to showcase their mutual passion for culture and the arts.
Both Mayor Roderick Awingan and Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan echoed this vision in keeping art alive in the valley, especially in the midst of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Supporting this cause, Committee Chairperson on Tourism and Special Events Councilor Belmer Elis, alongside Councilors Nestor Fongwan Jr., Tyrone Diaz, and Bartolome Baldas Jr., pledged to advance policies that empower local artists.
Former Councilor John Botiwey, author of the La Trinidad Creatives Ordinance (Municipal Ordinance No. 14-2025), was also present to witness the momentous event.
The artworks will remain on display until October 22, 2026.
In celebration of Tourism Month and the Creative Industries Week, ‘Sining sa Lambak’ is an ode to the creative voices of La Trinidad, which provides a dedicated space for celebrating art in all its forms.
