During the first Monday flag-raising ceremony of 2026, Municipal Engineer Benedict Pineda presented a comprehensive overview of the municipal government’s 2025 infrastructure portfolio, reporting a total of 156 projects valued at β‚±511,688,214.50.

The projects focused on valley-wide developments, including buildings, canals, roads, and slope protection.

The data shows a total of 156 projects, with 37 of those completed as of December 2025. There are 25 ongoing, 24 in the process of procurement, 45 which are undergoing field inspection, 20 for programming, and 5 others.

Their sources of funding include the Municipal Development Fund, Special Education Fund, General Fund, Quick Response Fund, Economic Enterprise, and various government agencies like the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Health.

The projects are made possible through numerous funding sources, including the Municipal Development Fund, Special Education Fund, General Fund, Quick Response Fund, and Economic Enterprise, alongside grants from government agencies such as the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Health.

Engr. Pineda addressed the 119 uncompleted projects, citing paperwork bottlenecks, staff overcapacity and labor shortages, and delays in budget approval as primary hurdles. Rather than offering excuses, he framed the backlog as a call to action.

β€œAs part of the builders of the nation, we cannot ignore the everyday headlines in newspapers and social media, as the climate of suspicion continues to hover around the entire country. The national scandal on flood control has cast a shadow of doubt on every infrastructure project in the country. The song 'Pinoy Ako', played during our exercise, serves as a reminder that integrity is a choice. Rebuilding trust is a slow and uphill battle against public cynicism. Here in our municipality, we will not be defined by the failure of others. We will be defined by our transparency,” he explained.

With the full backing of Mayor Roderick Awingan, Vice Mayor Guiller Galwan, and the Sangguniang Bayan, the Engineering Office is launching active recovery strategies to clear the backlogs and ensure every peso from our funds is used effectively and honestly.
