As continuing assistance to local farmers affected by Typhoon Maymay and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), over 4,000 DSWD Family Food Packs (FFPs) have been released to 13 barangays in the municipality earlier today, August 11.

MSWDO focal persons Rodney Riggs Pedronio and Irineo Alfaro Jr. closely coordinated with DSWD-Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Benguet for the transport of relief supplies from the agency’s warehouse in Puguis.

Municipal Administrator Atty. Franco Bawang Jr. personally supervised the loading of goods to guarantee a seamless dispatch.

Mayor Roderick Awingan assured that relief packs are limited to one per beneficiary to ensure equitable distribution, prioritizing farmers registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

The masterlist was compiled using data provided by each barangay and submitted through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist.

Out of a total of 4,700 allocated food packs, barangays Cruz, Bineng and Betag are set to claim their share tomorrow to avoid overlap with the simultaneous Rice Subsidy Distribution Program at the municipal gym.
