CREATING THE LA TRINIDAD AUTISM MANAGEMENT AND ADVOCACY BOARD (LT- AMAB), DEFINING ITS COMPOSITION AND FUNCTIONS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a lifelong developmental condition that affects neurodevelopment, communication, social interaction, and behavior, requiring specialized, coordinated, and sustained interventions from both government and non- government sectors.
The Municipality of La Trinidad recognizes the pressing need to institutionalize a dedicated body that will champion the rights, welfare, early diagnosis, intervention, and social inclusion of individuals on the autism spectrum, ensuring that no constituent is left behind.
There is hereby created a specialized body to be known as the La Trinidad Autism Management and Advocacy Board (LT-AMAB), hereinafter referred to as the "Board."
The LT-AMAB shall exercise the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Policy Formulation: Formulate comprehensive, long-term local plans, programs, and policies geared toward early screening, diagnosis, intervention, education, and economic empowerment for individuals with autism.
2. Resource Mapping and Registry: Establish and maintain a secure, updated, and localized database of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in La Trinidad, in strict compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, to guide local resource allocation.
3. Advocacy and Awareness: Spearhead annual campaigns, such as World Autism Awareness Day and National Autism Consciousness Week, to foster empathy, eliminate social stigma, and promote neurodiversity acceptance across schools. workplaces, and barangays.
4. Capacity Building: Organize training programs, seminars, and workshops for Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), day-care workers, teachers, and parents regarding the early signs of autism and effective behavioral interventions.
5. Multi-Sectoral Collaboration: Partner with private clinics, academic institutions, and national agencies to facilitate affordable therapy services, inclusive education (SPED), and technical-vocational training for transition-age youth with autism.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor the implementation of local ordinances and national laws protecting the rights of individuals on the autism spectrum within the municipality.
