KM. 4 AND LAMTANG SCHOOL WOES

The valley’s local officials got their hands full today, August 11, inspecting areas across the valley severely battered by the typhoon.
Mayor Roderick Awingan, accompanied by engineering and disaster management officials, made a quick stop at a residential compound in Km.4, Pico after residents expressed alarm over the collapse a protective wall along a waterway adjacent to their homes.
The residents are worried that the heavy rush of murky water from up the hills that caused the damage would jeopardize the stability of their houses.
Next was a short stopover at the Lamtang Elementary School in barangay Puguis.
The school’s entrance is currently in peril of being completely blocked by a landslide following a surge of rockfalls from an increasingly volatile slope.
